About this Item
Eisele Vineyard is a renowned vineyard located in the Napa Valley, California. Known for producing some of the most prestigious wines in the region, the vineyard has a rich history and is particularly famous for its exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon.
The vineyard was originally planted in the late 19th century, but it became prominent under the ownership of Milton and Barbara Eisele, who acquired the property in 1969. They recognized the potential of the terroir and began producing high-quality wines. In 1990, the vineyard was purchased by the Araujo family, who further elevated its status by focusing on organic and biodynamic farming practices. In 2013, the vineyard was acquired by the prestigious French wine company Château Latour, which continued to uphold and enhance its reputation.During their twenty-three years of stewardship of the Eisele Vineyard, the Araujos were committed to maintaining links with Napa Valley’s rural history while building on the Eisele’s accomplishments. Taking an exceptional piece of land for growing Cabernet Sauvignon, the Araujos created an authentic winegrowing estate. They replanted the vines, introduced organic farming and became among the first Napa Valley vintners to embrace the principles of biodynamic farming. They re-designed the estate grounds and safeguarded a diverse eco-system to ensure the health of the land.

Critics Ratings
'The saturated purple-colored 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard offers an attractive nose of black fruits intermixed with toast, minerals, subtle tar, and wood smoke. Full-bodied, with impressive purity, a multi-layered mid-palate and finish, it is an expressive, pure, powerful, and large-boned wine.' - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, 94/100 (Jan 2000)
'Smooth and polished, with detailed flavors of ripe plum, black cherry, spice and light oak, this pedigreed red turns rich and elegant, with a long, complex aftertaste. Best from 2001 through 2008' - James Laube, Wine Spectator, 94/100 (Nov 1999)
'Deep ruby color, darker for its age than the '97. Slightly roasted aromas of black fruits, toffee, leather, tobacco, mocha and dark chocolate; exhilarating suggestion of crystallized berries. Lush and velvety in the mouth; already displays wonderful sweetness and layered texture. Very strong back end features chewy, ripe tannins. A very successful '96, showing beautifully today.' - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 93/100 (May 1999)
