About this Item
Gary and Kathy Jordan have been making world-class wines since 1993 on this Stellenbosch Kloof property, and today leads a multinational commercial success that they built up from a family concern. Gary's parents, Ted and Sheelagh, bought the 146 hectare Stellenbosch property in 1982, and embarked on an extensive replanting program, specializing in classic varieties suited to the different soils and slopes.
The ultimate expression of Jordan terroir. The Nine Yards Chardonnay is made is in a reserve style, from barrel selection from our best vineyard site. Stylistically different to our Jordan Chardonnay, with this wine we went “The whole nine yards”!

Critics Ratings
‘Powerful full-bodied 2009 with tons of fruit and balancing fresh acidity. Finely interwoven 95% new French oak adds vanilla, hazelnut touch. Year on lees plumps richness and lingering finish.’ - Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2011, 4.5*
'Some natural ferment. Racy and silky. Should evolve well. Lots of effort!' - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5/20 (Oct 2011)
'I tasted the 2009 Nine Yards Chardonnay twice (both blind). Almost entirely fermented in new French oak with 12 months on the lees, it has a generous , leesy bouquet with touches of vanilla, almond flakes and white peach. The palate has a ripe, tropical tinged entry but there is also admirable acidity and purity, rendering this a very well made Chardonnay with great depth and power. Nevertheless, I was expecting just a little more tension and mineralite on the finish. Drink now-2017.' - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 91/100 (Aug 2011)
