Johan Steyn is a South African artist who initially pursued a formal career mastering various technological processes, including engraving and working with metal. In his late 40s, he transitioned to professional artistry, debuting with a successful solo exhibition titled “They Are Disappearing.” After semi-grating to Muizenberg in the Western Cape, he evolved into a bronze sculptor, focusing on African wildlife, human figures, busts, angels, and his signature “Minky and the Sunbird” range. Steyn’s sculptures reflect his unwavering dedication to art and society, establishing him as a recognised figure in the sculptural landscape.
