Fledge & Co. - Hoeksteen Stellenbosch Old Vine Project Chenin Blanc (6 x 750ml)
The birth of The Fledge & Co.’s vine to wine journey started way back in 2007, but our first release in 2012 amounted to a mere 240 bottles of our 2011 Hoeksteen old bush vine Stellenbosch Chenin Blanc, from the Helderzicht farm facing False Bay.
Focusing exclusively on dry-farmed old Stellenbosch bush vines, with vineyards planted in 1980 – 1983 & produced in minute volumes, this is an extremely rare opportunity to enjoy a set of Hoeksteen spanning our Chenin journey from 2014 – 2020.

These wines were crafted with minimal modern winemaking intervention, utilising skin contact during pressing, undergoing extended lees maturation in tank/barrel & stand as testament to the winemaking journey of Margaux Nel & myself, and the vintages these vines have survived.

This lot includes the following vintages of Fledge & Co. Hoeksteen Stellenbosch OVP Chenin Blanc - 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020.

Fledge & Co - Old Vine Project Braai Boxie (6 x 750ml)
Our crafting wines from old vines is based on happenstance, scouring the Cape’s winelands and the grace lekker farmers. We haven’t intentionally searched for these wizened vines who’s stories go back decades and some now nearing a century, but they have come across our path and allowed us the opportunity to showcase the variety, vintage and their special place in the Cape.

Each of the wines are crafted from certified old vine project sites and include:
Swartland Bosstok Tinta Barocca OVP 1971 – the 2021 vintage, our 2nd & originating from the Paardeberg’s ancient granite soils.
Swartland Bosstok Steen OVP 1968 – the 2024 Klipspringer Swartland Steen, partially barrel fermented & matured, this unadorned wine is a pure refection of its Koffieklip & granitic soils.
Klein Karoo makstok Palomino OVP 1962 – our maiden 2023 skin contact release from ungrafted Palomino vines planted along the banks of the Gamka River of the arid Klein Karoo.
