Nederburg - Private Bin R115 Shiraz Cabernet 1984 (1 x 750ml)
The Nederburg Private Bin range of wines were specially made and bottled for the Nederburg Auction. The R115 refers to Bin115 in the cellar where the unlabelled wines were stored. Recorked in 2024, the wine shows red fruit colour with just a tinge of brown. Lovely red fruit dominates the nose, followed by some spice and meatiness. It was made as a lighter style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz in 50/50% proportions for earlier drinking, but also for ageing, as is seen in this perfect matured wine of 40 years, still showing freshness. The palate shows the lighter style as well, with some soft red fruit and spice, showing the varietals in perfect harmony. A good finish, elegant, smooth and with enough acidity to support the wine beautifully.
