The Garajeest - The Blank Canvas Range - Venus 2019 (2 x 1.5L)
Callan launched The Blank Canvas Range in celebration of a decade of her brand - The Garajeest. 'My wines have always been inspired by music, but entering a new era in my life as well as in my business journey, I have decided to dedicate my work to my other muse, being art.'
The Blank Canvas Range is interactive, with the hope that the consumer will express themselves on the canvas while enjoying the wine with friends. The Birth of Venus is her favourite painting. In her opinion, this is the best wine she has made. She selected the cooper/forest/toasting level of the barrel, and she specifically brings it in, for a select vintage and pocket of grapes. Very few bottles remaining. The cultivar is kept a secret.

Paul Clüver - Seven Flags Chardonnay 2016 (3 x 1.5L)
The 2016 harvest at Paul Clüver Wines was notable for being one of the driest summers recorded in the Western Cape, leading to an early harvest for this special wine that began on February 16, with ripe fruit showing intense flavour concentration and holding an early prospect for making exceptional Chardonnay. This was realised in a wine of poise, refinement and layer-upon-layer of white wine complexity for which the variety is known.

In the winery, the grapes were whole bunch pressed and settled naturally without additives, then 100% wild fermented in a selection of French oak barrels - 28% being new wood, with the remainder held in second and third fill barrels. The wine was aged for nine months on its lees with minimal stirring, preserving freshness and vitality. Eight-years after harvest and with extensive bottle-aging, the Seven Flags Chardonnay 2016 underscores this grape variety’s propensity to mature magnificently.
Current tasting notes reveal a distinctive profile of buttered toast and brioche, complemented by vibrant citrus, tangerine, and floral nuances with an intriguing tertiary nuttiness. A memorable wine of magnificence.
