About this Item
Alto - Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 (1 x 3L)
Alto has become one of the most respected and well-known wine estates in Stellenbosch for Cabernet Sauvignon. We have been producing a single varietal Cabernet Sauvignon since 1965.
The 2014 vintage is our renowned 10-year release and was hand harvested from grapes on north facing vineyards at altitudes up to 500m above sea level. The vines on the higher slopes benefit by the cooling maritime breezes from near-by False Bay, this breeze ensures that our grapes reach optimum ripeness and develop the rich and concentrated flavours that our Cabernet Sauvignon is known for.
This exceptional vintage shows a dark, intense plum colour with rich concentrated red fruit, dark chocolate and a hint of graphite on the nose. The palate is full-bodied with ripe but elegant tannins and a powerful finish. A perfect wine to enjoy now or age to further degrees of excellence in your wine cellar.
The 2014 vintage was awarded with a gold medal at Veritas and at Michelangelo International competition.
