Beyond the three outstanding Boekenhoutskloof bottlings of Syrah, four Cabernet Sauvignon’s and two heritage vines Semillon (Tim Atkin MW’s White Wine of the Year in 2022), this case includes the rare Noble Late Harvest and The Journeyman. The latter being a wine only made in truly exceptional vintages and thus far only bottled on a mere seven occasions.

Boekenhoutskloof - Cap Maritime, Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley 2020 - 2022 Vertical
This lot from Cap Maritime, Boekenhoutskloof Winery’s expedition into the Hemel-en-Aarde, specifically the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley.
This Pinot Noir and Chardonnay-focussed endeavour is spearheaded by winemaker Gottfried Mocke. Two bottles of each; Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from vintages 2020, 2021 & 2022, the lot includes multiple Platter’s Guide 5-Star wines. Gottfried follows a traditional winemaking philosophy using only concrete tanks and native yeasts during fermentation, with a slightly longer élevage in Burgundian oak barrique and foudre. His preference to accentuate texture and perfume characters over the opulence of primary fruit, are a hallmark of his wines.
