Mvemve Raats - De Compostella Magnum 2021 (1 x 1.5L)
In 2002 Bruwer Raats combined his quest for mastery with winemaker and lifelong friend, Mzokhona Mvemve, and Mvemve Raats was born.
Inspired by a constellation of stars merging to create something spectacular. The aim with this wine was to take each of the five components and make a varietal wine in it’s own right. The wines were then tasted blind after one year in barrel. The wines that scored less than 90 points were not considered for the final blend. The percentage components of the blend were determined by the scores achieved in the blind tasting. The resultant cuvee is called De Compostella (‘The Compilation of Stars’).

Keermont Vineyards - Single Vineyard Series Topside Syrah 2015 (1 x 1.5L)
Keermont Vineyards Topside Syrah (1.7Ha) is situated high up on the West facing midslopes of the Stellenbosch Mountain range. It was planted in 2006 by Alex Starey (Viticulturist & Winemaker at Keermont) and his team. The soils are rocky, with sandstone and granite, weathered from the peaks above, with a little Malmsbury shale. The elevation (350m), dry land soils and aspect all contribute to an elegant wine with spicy character and fine tannins.

100% of our wines are grown, produced, and bottled at Keermont. Small parcels of grapes are selected, harvested by hand and vinified separately. This wine spent 3-4 weeks fermenting (100% natural ferment) and macerating on the skins in small open top tanks with one gentle ‘punch-down’ a day. Topside 2015 spent 20 months in seasoned 225L and 500L French oak barrels before being bottled by hand. It has been maturing in our vinothèque ever since.
