About this Item
Chateau Lynch Bages, a Fifth Cru Classé, is one of the best-known Médoc estates and has always had a particularly strong following in Britain. The Pauillac producer is considered classically styled and long-aging. Since 1973 it has been owned by the enigmatic Jean-Michel Cazes and is now run by his son, Jean-Charles.

Critics Ratings
‘The Lynch Bages '09 is a triumph from Jean-Charles Chevalier and his team. It is wonderfully controlled and precise on the understated nose - but there is a brooding presence here - the sense of a class act that does not want to be disturbed. Graphite, blackberry and crushed stone unfold with every passing moment. The palate is medium-bodied with a citrus fresh entry. There is very good weight here, primal but supremely well balanced with a gradual build towards the insistent minty finish. Gorgeous.’ - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 96/100 (Jan 2013)
‘Tight and backward, this has dense, almost chewy layers of fig, currant and plum cake behind a very solid wall of cedar, roasted vanilla and charcoal notes. There is serious grip on the finish, with an iron edge that won't quit. Best from 2015 through 2035.’ - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 96/100 (Mar 2013)
