About this Item

2007 Black Label Pinotage
12 (2 x 6) 750ml

Often described as the South African equivalent of a Grand Cru or First Growth, Kanonkop Estate is situated on the Simonsberg mountain slopes on the outskirts of Stellenbosch. Owned by the fourth generation Krige family, Abri Beeslaar is their long-term winemaker who has won International Winemaker of the year an incredible 3 times.

The Black Label was introduced as a limited-edition bottling in 2006 'to make an international statement with a uniquely South African wine', according to owner Johann Krige, cementing the team's confidence in South Africa's own red variety. Produced from 60-year-old bush vines, this is a big, bold Pinotage filled with enormous complexity. Each wine is individually numbered and labelled with a hologram to ensure authenticity.
