About this Item
2011 Soldaat
3 (1 x 3) 750ml
The Soldaat is pure Grenache from granite soils in Piekenierskloof at 700m altitude. The Piekenierskloof took its name from the foot soldiers (piekeniers) who stayed on top of the mountain to protect livestock from theft, hence, this parcel of vines is named Soldaat (Soldier). This is most likely Sadie's rarest red.

Critics Ratings
'It has a real, rustic, old skool Chateauneuf-du-Pape inspired nose reminiscent of an old Rayas. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp strawberry and redcurrant fruit ... There is just so much character in this Grenache you will want to have another bottle after it is finished.' Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 95/100
