About this Item
Often described as the South African equivalent of a Grand Cru or First Growth, Kanonkop Estate is situated on the Simonsberg mountain slopes on the outskirts of Stellenbosch. Owned by the fourth generation Krige family,
Renowned for decades of ageing, Kanonkop’s Cabernet Sauvignon is austere when young and ages with grace.
The 2004 vintage was Platter’s SA Wine Guide's ‘Wine of the Year’ in 2009 and their team subsequently never got to taste the 2005 vintage as it sold out immediately upon its release. It is a highly sought-after vintage that should be reaching maturity, but will age for many decades.
